Nonmonogamy
& Relational Diversity:
An Authentic, Decolonial
Approach
Nonmonogamy is more than just a relational style; it’s a deeply personal identity that challenges the norms of monogamy, opening space for greater connection, love, and freedom. At the heart of nonmonogamy is relational diversity—whether expressed through open relationships, polyamory, relationship anarchy, or other forms of consensual nonmonogamy. I approach this work from a decolonial feminist perspective, recognising that traditional narratives of relationships often stem from colonial and patriarchal structures that don’t serve everyone.
I advocate for a relational model that honours each person’s journey towards individuation, where you can find your own truth within the relationship, and where your needs, desires, and boundaries are respected. This focus on individuation is essential in navigating nonmonogamy, as it allows you to stay connected to your personal growth while building relationships based on authenticity and mutual respect.
In my practice, I offer support in a variety of areas within nonmonogamous relationships:
-
Coming Out as Nonmonogamous: Navigating the stress of coming out as nonmonogamous, dealing with judgment from family, friends, or society, and finding ways to stand in your truth with confidence and grace.
-
Discrimination & Social Justice Issues: Supporting you in navigating discrimination related to your relational identity, advocating for your rights, and addressing social justice issues within relational diversity.
-

-

-

I’ve spent years advocating for the rights of individuals in diverse relational styles, which led to my involvement in writing a comprehensive training module on relational diversity for professional intimacy coaches. This module equips coaches to support nonmonogamous clients with empathy and expertise, addressing the unique challenges that arise in these relationships.
This work is grounded in a belief that nonmonogamy offers an opportunity for personal liberation. By embracing a decolonial feminist approach, I aim to help individuals break free from restrictive relational norms imposed by colonial systems, allowing for more fluid, expansive, and inclusive ways of loving. My goal is to help you find empowerment through your relational choices and navigate your journey with confidence, trust, and self-compassion.
If you’re looking for guidance on exploring or deepening your nonmonogamous relationships, I offer an approach that is holistic, trauma-informed, and rooted in a deep respect for your personal and relational needs. My work blends spiritual and psychological insights to help you create and sustain relationships that feel true to who you are.
